Whether you are thinking about a complete garden re-design, or just improving a particular area, or if you want general planting or landscaping advice or are just seeking practical solutions to your gardening problems, over 25 years of hands on landscaping and design experience means I am confident that I will be able to help and guide you to get the best from your garden. I am still available for on-site consultations which is undoubtedly the most effective way to get the solutions you need but also happy to receive photographs of the area you want to address, either on-line or through the mail and have a chat to discuss things on the phone too.
Please feel free to give me a call on 07860 184186 or drop me an email at lynne@lynneallbutt.com
Or, if you are considering a complete or part garden re-design but want to do the work yourself then my GANDIY GARDENING service where you Get Advice ‘N’ Do It Yourself, is the perfect solution for both gardeners and home-owners who are on a tight budget.
A little ironically, GANDIY gardening has grown organically as a result of the recent recession. As Clients became more mindful of their budgets, they would ask me to visit their site to give them advice and recommend materials and suppliers and they would then endeavour to do the work themselves. As well as recreating a ‘community atmosphere’ by roping friends, family and neighbours in to help, this relaxed approach also enables the ‘Client’ to interact more with their own garden. Therefore they feel more connected and involved. I have often spoken about the need for people to ‘make friends with their garden’ in order to dissipate any apprehension and even resentment they may have harboured about their unruly plot.
As any idea whose time has come, it has worked very well. For some Clients the advice and inspiration they receive on the initial visit is enough to carry them through their project; for others I revisit occasionally, when options have changed or enthusiasm waned. Either way, I can always be emailed and am happy to meet up and motivate as necessary.
‘Advice’ includes all aspects of design; whether you are completely re-designing a space, improving a specific area or dealing with a ‘challenging’ aspect. Moving an existing shed can totally change the aspect of a plot, visually and practically; clever planting can create natural divisions within a garden without the need for hard landscaping and lawns or paths can be reshaped to create a different look completely.
‘Recommendations’, can apply to materials, suppliers and even how to stage a project over a couple of years.
Whether you want to grow your own vegetables on a balcony or landscape an rolling country estate, 25 years of hands on landscaping and design experience and a reputation for calling ‘a spade a spade’ ensures that I will be able to help you get the most use and pleasure from your personal space. It is a great idea to visit other gardens, browse through brochures and note your favourite flowers at the local Garden Centre but it is the ability to combine all the things that appeal to you together with the things that Nature will allow, that will create the individual magic in your own garden.
So, if you’re not sure whether it should be a deck or a patio, hedge or fence, grass or gravel, terrace or slope, shed or summerhouse, waterfall or raised pond; what tools to buy or even where to put the washing line, give me a call and try GANDIY Gardening for yourself."
