I'm looking forward to judging Blaenau Gwent in Bloom this week and feel very honoured to have been given the privilege for a second year. Entries are at a record high with 103 individual entries and if last year is anything to go by, standards will be exceptionally high. I love meeting people who are passionate about their gardens, picking up tips (I'll share them, don't worry) and best of all visiting the schools and seeing the pride on the children's faces as they show me their own little allotments and flower gardens.
Last year the rain had dampened blooms considerably, (as well as the judge), so fingers crossed the sun will shine on us this year. It's been "hard growing" so far as the soil is so dry but never mind, you won't hear us gardeners ever moaning about the weather!
I'll try to post a few pictures thoughout the week, so watch this space ........
